One-Day Darling is the thirty-first chapter of the Black Cat manga and the third chapter of Volume 4
Plot[]
Train Heartnet and Rinslet Walker are at a restaurant, enjoying a meal. Train asks if Rinslet is the one buying, to which the thief-for-hire replies yes. Train thanks her for coming to his aid when he was having a difficult time, no strings attached. Rinslet tells him that they are, after all, friends.
At Sven's apartment, Eve is having supper, while Sven is working on his latest invention. The girl asks about Train's whereabouts, and the sweeper replies that he is on a date with Rinslet, since free food was involved.
Back at the restaurant, Rinslet gets down to bussiness and informs Train that she has a personal mission and needs Train's help. The man instantly refuses, telling her that as a sweeper, he can't help her commit a crime. Rinslet tells him that she won't be buying since she only treats friends to free meals and sweepers and thieves can not be friends. She then reminds the sweeper about the Lunafort incident, when she risked her life to save his. Train finally agrees, so Rinslet tells him that there is something in it for him before explaining that she, under the alias of Elena Pierce, has been invited to a Madame Freesia's birthday party. The problem is that Elena Pierce, is supposed to be the wife of a young capitalist from Loire province, and as a young wife, she can not attend the party alone, so Rinslet wants Train to play the role of her "husband", much to sweeper's shock.
Later, Sven is driving Train through the city while berating him for allowing Rinslet to trick him and making him play chauffeur. They arrive at hotel Sandino at 2:45 pm. Sven tells Train to do whatever he has to do then come back. He then tells Eve to stay in the car while he takes a nap.
Train meets up with Rinslet and together, the "couple" attend the party. Rinslet informs Train about Madame Freesia, before telling him about another uninvited guest: Lugart Won.
